Swimming in Cameron pools.

This term we have been learning water safety at Cameron Pools on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

We were separated into groups. My group was Jasmine's group. First we learned about boat safety. We had to get on the boat. This might sound easy but when you are hopping in from the water with a life jacket on, it isn't! When  we finally got on we had to stay on one side so that it was nearly going to flip over. When it did, it was so hilarious. after it was filped over we had to go under. After that we had to try filp it over then I  got it first try.

After that we moved on to rips and currents and we had to learn what happen if your in one then we made humongous waves and you had to swim through it. It was difficult to swim through. Next we had another session bout things  that float to help people that are drowning  like plastic bottles, ropes, and other.  We had to  pick groups when you have someone had to act like your drowning and we have to save them.

After we learnt about what to do if we were out in the ocean . We had to dive into the pool and after diving in we put on our lifejackets while we were in the water. When we were done putting on our jackets we got to dive in again. We got into a huddle because if you were out in the ocean it would be cold so that's why you should huddle and plus if a helicopter comes it would see you  then we had to get into groups of three after we got out and sat on the wall we had to lean back and fall it hurt my legs because it hit my ankles. Thats all I've done for swimming Thank you for reading my blog Blog you later.

  2. Excellent recount of the safety swimming lessons. Looks like you really enjoyed it. Lets hope you feel more confident in and around the water now & are looking forward to the Goat Island camp in term 4. Maybe you could do some more posts perhaps the Olympic Games.

  3. Awesome work Freddy!

It's great to see you sharing your learning about water safety. It sounds like you had heaps of fun and you learned about water safety in emergency situations, which is super important. All of your knowledge will be helpful when you go to camp later in the year. Maybe you could blog about your DLO or the flags that you made for our special Olympic games at school.

Which sports did you like watching?

Keep up the awesome blogging :)
