Biking

On Monday we had Bike skills but I wasn't there. The class learned how to turn right safely and a safe way to enter the road. They played games like the box game, head shoulders knees and toes, turtle races, red light green light, figure of 8 challenge, and riding on the field. Another thing they learned was you can to travel to school on a bike because it's less pollution.  Also how to check the brakes of the bike also signals, ABC checklist. A was for air in the tyres, B for brakes, C control and chain. They were riding on the field and played a bean bag game. Each child got a bean bag and got on their bike then gave it to their team mate. That's all I know that happened. Blog you later.

Skateboarding

Today we had skateboarding. The first activity we had to fall over and the foot that you put out was the one going on the top of the skateboard and the other foot will be the one to push you.

Next, Ben and Laurence who were the coaches told us to do laps across the court and back. After that we split into groups and  I was in Laurence's group. First was balance on the skateboard with one foot and do exercises with one foot and touch the top of the skateboard.

We learned the parts of the skateboard like the deck, wheels. Next thing we  did was tick tacks, tick tacks is when you  hold the back of the skateboard with your foot and turn it and see how many time you can do in a circle.

Then we lean side to side to turn the board then we played whats up wolf. Its whats the time Mr Wolf. Then we had free time. After morning tea it was our second session some of the activities were the same but we did Zigzags up and down the court that was one of the hardest things I did. The other thing I did was a willy flip, a willy flip is when you put your skateboard facing upside down and try to flip it back up and land on it. Blog you later!! This was a fun thing to do. You should try it as well (activity Young Gun Skate School )

Production

Jasmine & Aladdin Production 2020

Last week we had production called Jasmine and Aladdin
Monday was first our rehearsal at Waikowhai Intermediate when we got there the backstage was setting up the props. Ms Sands got some people to help and I was one of them, we had to screw the bolt in the holes on the wall. We started to rehearse and the main characters did their part near the end was the year 5&6 dance to Respect.

Then on Tuesday the same thing - practice their lines and their dance. Wednesday same thing but it's a dress rehearsal today and it was the day we have the production in front of our parents.

My favourite scene was when Jasmine was getting tested by the professors. And it happened on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. Friday was in the morning but all the other ones were at night. I also hope you liked my blog, See you later blogger!!!

Wonder Project

On Thursday we launched our rockets. First Te Waka  Ako launched our prototypes, some peoples' prototypes didn't go as far as ours because they needed more aerodynamics. Then we had to rebuild our prototypes and make some improvements so it could go further. First my group was making bigger fins so it could go soaring through the air and be more aerodynamic and less drag. Also we had to use cardboard to make the roof more pointy. Aerodynamic - what does it mean? It means if you have a pointy end it could go far because it has less drag and it would go straight like jets, planes and racing cars. The rocket had wings so it could fly straight. If we didn't have a pointy end, it would create more drag and make it travel in an unexpected way. We ran out of time so we had nothing to launch but we had a bottle and we used it....that didn't go too far but it was a good experience. Blog you later.
